ABOUT CHILDREN'S YOGA
Our fun and inspiring yoga classes are taught by Lizzie, mum to two daughters, an experienced primary school teacher and a certified Cosmic Kids yoga teacher. Lizzie also works part-time for CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) as an Activities Coordinator and is passionate about taking care of both physical and mental health. Yoga with Lizzie encourages children and young people to move their bodies and explore feelings and emotions in a safe and supportive space.

Our classes for 11 years and under are taught through a yoga story. Recent examples include: Lilo & Stitch, Bluey, Mog the Cat, and Room on the Broom. Each story explores a theme or emotion, some examples are: coping with change, overcoming fears, handling disappointment, the importance of friendship and celebrating differences.
After the yoga story the children enjoy a relaxation, they then complete a craft or mindfulness activity which is linked to the story. The children have recently enjoyed pebble painting, dream catchers and scratch art.
The 2-4 years classes follow the same format. The children are supported on the mat by their adult, this makes for a wonderful bonding opportunity.
Classes For 11 Years & Under

Our classes for teens are taught in the style of a more traditional yoga class. Teens are taught a yoga flow that incorporates yoga poses that help develop flexibility and strength.
The classes also include breathing exercises and mindfulness and relaxation techniques.
The classes are a great way for teens to find some calm and regulate big emotions. The classes are fun and supportive and a great opportunity for young people to make connections with like-minded individuals.

OUR TEACHER
Lizzie is our yoga teacher. She is mum to two daughters: Olivia (12) and Harriet (9) and was a primary school teacher for 12 years. Lizzie has a qualification in counselling skills and works part time for CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Heath Services). Lizzie absolutely loves yoga and the many benefits that it brings. She has been practising yoga regularly since 2010.
During ‘lockdown’ Lizzie and her daughters really enjoyed practising yoga together. They found that yoga really helped to build their physical strength and flexibility, it also helped calm their minds during this unpredictable time.
Lizzie and her daughters continue to practise yoga regularly and enjoy the many wonderful benefits that a regular yoga practice brings.
